Nomadnoos yarns originate in the most remote regions, their journey beginning in Mongolia. Here, collaborations were established with herders whose mixed herds consist of yaks, camels, sheep, and goats. By exclusively purchasing fibers from animals that do not damage the pastureland, the herders' habitat is secured. Nomadnoos buys the fine fibers directly from the herding families. The raw wool is then sent to Ulaanbaatar for washing and combing. A water recycling system ensures that environmental impact is as low as possible. Once a sufficient quantity of the highest quality fibers has been collected, it is sent to Nepal, where it is spun into fine yarns by skilled spinners in Kathmandu. All yarns are also dyed in Kathmandu using environmentally friendly dyes, creating the typical Nomadnoos colors. The workshop in Kathmandu also has a water purification system, so the water is reused multiple times there too. Spinning generates a regular daily income for the Nomadnoos team members in Kathmandu, significantly contributing to an improved quality of life. With these yarns, you can not only create something incredibly beautiful, but you also support people and regions that maintain a long and vibrant tradition of wool production.
