Linen

Cool beauties
Flax, the ancient raw material from which linen is spun and from which clothing has been made for millennia, is now cultivated in only a very few regions of Europe. For a long time, linen led a marginal existence in the world of hand knitting. Too hard, too stiff, too expensive... But today, linen is finding more and more fans among knitters, and rightly so! Even if it sometimes feels a bit stiff when knitting at first, it gradually softens with wear and washing. Its excellent breathability and clear stitch definition are two further qualities that make these yarns stand out. We also offer recycled linen, which is much softer due to its production method and results in beautifully flowing knits. Blended with cotton, it also creates wonderful summer yarns in vibrant colors, such as ALLINO from BC GARN.

Linen becomes softer and has excellent climate properties.

Premium-quality linen knitting yarn may seem a bit stiff at first glance, but over time, with each wash and handling, the knitted garment becomes softer and more fluid. Linen has excellent climate-regulating properties and was therefore used to make clothing thousands of years ago, for example in ancient Egypt. Linen is very durable and gives soft, less tear-resistant materials good stability.
