Cowgirlblues stands for beautiful hand-dyed mohairs and merinos from Cape Town - produced fairly and with love. The founder, Bridget Henderson, gathered plenty of inspiration during her many travels as a business consultant, but the most beautiful color compositions come to her mind during her hikes around Table Mountain. Here, she initially started as a one-woman business, experimenting with hand-dyeing. Meanwhile, her team - also thanks to the great demand for her creations from Europe - has grown to several women who receive the necessary training and good pay from her. In a mix of workshop and studio, Bridget's team hand-dyes various wool and mohair yarn bases into variegated or semi-solid colors. Sometimes a few splashes of color are added, and you get the unmistakable colors of Cowgirlblues. The variegated options always contain some of the semi-solid shades, resulting in wonderful combinations. Combinations of different yarn bases in one and the same color also create great effects.
