The yarn lives up to its name: The Kashmir region lies in the Himalayas at an altitude of 1700m. It is therefore pleasantly mild in summer, sometimes even quite cool.

Our Summer in Kashmir yarn offers the perfect blend: wonderfully soft cotton refined with 10% cashmere makes this GOTS-certified organic yarn a popular choice year-round, for all climates, indoors and outdoors, for young and old. The small amount of cashmere gives the yarn a delicate down, visible when held up to the light, but the yarn is not at all "fluffy or hairy," making it ideal for baby clothes, especially since it's machine washable. Of course, even those with sensitive skin will love this all-season yarn.

Due to the cashmere content, the spinning mill recommends hand washing to protect the delicate fiber, and this is also stated on the label. However, our machine wash test at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle was very satisfactory, which is why we can recommend it without hesitation.

The cotton used comes from GOTS-certified cotton fields in Turkey and is also spun and dyed there. The cashmere comes from Mongolia.
