It's not as cuddly soft as, for example, merino wool, but did you know that the perception of itchiness largely depends on the outside temperature? The colder it is outside, the warmer a wool with a less smooth fiber than merino will keep you. This is because more air can be trapped between the fibers for warmth. Its texture and firmness create a very clear stitch definition and make it ideal for multi-colored knitting.
