And here comes the cuddly version of our sock yarn with a noticeable alpaca content: 10 percent may not seem like much, but it really makes all the difference! The spinning mill suggested five different material combinations to me. Why did I ultimately choose this version with alpaca? Because it offers the best of both worlds: the durability and machine-washability of true sock yarn and the necessary softness to knit not only socks, but also garments and accessories. At this point, I wish we had touchscreens. Until then: Just take the plunge and try it for yourself!
The raw wool comes from South America and is guaranteed mulesing-free. Our Edelweiss yarn is spun in Italy. We've opted for 25g balls for this yarn. This gives you much more flexibility for multi-colored knitting projects, not just for your next pair of socks, but also for shawls, sweaters, and anything else that should be warm, soft, and easy to care for.
