Needles
4mm straight knitting needles and 4mm circular knitting needles (at least 100cm) for the border or the needle size needed to achieve gauge.
Gauge
19 sts x 22 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm washed and blocked, 4mm needles, knitted in main pattern and yarn held double.
The Salt Scarf is knitted flat, from one end to the other.
Based on a simple lace pattern, it reaches its full width through increases, followed by decreases to the width of the cast-on edge. The repeated
lace pattern creates an elegant, elongated shape, which is given a neat finish by a simple
knitted border.
