Exclusive buttons from Jim Knopf
The creative mind behind Jim Button is Ute Holk, who founded the company and has been running it for 30 years. Many of her buttons are produced in the most remote corners of the world according to her specifications for Jim Button. Ute Holk knows most of the production facilities personally and places great importance on ensuring that the buttons are manufactured under fair conditions. Most of the buttons are handmade. One particularly innovative idea is the recycled bottle caps: "During one of my visits to our production facility in the Philippines, I noticed that the bottle caps from the soft drinks sold at the small kiosks were mostly thrown away carelessly. That's when I had the idea to turn the bottle caps into buttons. A deal was struck with the kiosk owners, and now a production employee drives around to the kiosks once a week collecting the bottle caps for our bottle cap recycling line," explains the creative director. It's incredible how many different designs can be developed from bottle caps. Some of them are also available in our product range.
