Wild Wool is a sustainable blend of wonderfully soft virgin wool and nettle. The wool comes from Corriedale sheep that live in the Punta Arenas region of Chile. The yarn is spun in Italy.
Nettle has been used in textiles for over 2000 years and is valued for its strength and durability. Only the long fibers from the center of the stem are spun from this plant.
Nettles grow abundantly in rainy areas, require no pollutants or pesticides, and are therefore particularly environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Blending with high-quality wool enhances the unique character of the nettle fiber, while the wool adds volume and structure. This results in a wonderfully soft, Aran-weight yarn, despite the relatively firm nettle fiber. The irresistible color palette is inspired by the wilderness.
