Cotton Yarn for Knitting and Crocheting

A cotton knitting yarn should ideally be made from controlled organic cultivation (kbA), as only then can a cotton yarn be called organic cotton. Mercerized Cotton

Some cotton yarns are mercerized, meaning they are refined with a surface treatment that makes the cotton dimensionally stable and shinier. The fibers are dipped in a special lye and then stretched. This causes the fibers to lie close and parallel, which ensures good light reflection and thus a beautiful sheen. If you are looking for cotton for knitting or cotton crochet yarn, mercerized cotton is a good choice. For those who also like to use vegan products when knitting, our cotton yarns are a wonderful alternative.
