Yes. Since August 29, 2025, there is no longer a duty-free threshold for imports into the United States. This means that every shipment from abroad is subject to customs duties, regardless of its value.
Customs duties depend on the fiber type:
Merino wool (? 85% wool): about 6%
Merino wool (< 85% wool): about 6%
Mohair: about 4%
Alpaca: usually 0–4%
Yes. Shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS usually charge a handling/processing fee for customs clearance. This fee is typically around USD 5–15 per shipment.
