Do I have to pay customs duties when ordering from the U.S.?

Yes. Since August 29, 2025, there is no longer a duty-free threshold for imports into the United States. This means that every shipment from abroad is subject to customs duties, regardless of its value.

How much are the customs duties for yarn and wool?

Customs duties depend on the fiber type:

• Merino wool (? 85% wool): about 6%

• Merino wool (< 85% wool): about 6%

• Mohair: about 4%

• Alpaca: usually 0–4%

Are there any additional fees besides customs duties?

Yes. Shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS usually charge a handling/processing fee for customs clearance. This fee is typically around USD 5–15 per shipment.

Order value: USD 100

• Customs duty (Merino, 6%): USD 6

• Carrier handling fee: USD 10
  Total extra costs: approx. USD 16

When and how do I pay these fees?

Customs duties and handling fees are not included in our product prices or shipping costs. They will be billed directly by the carrier upon delivery.

If you are not satisfied with the quality or color of an item you receive, you may return it to us within six months of purchase. Please understand that we can only accept returns of unused merchandise in its original condition, including the label. Portions of yarn packages cannot be returned.
