Nomadnoos yarns originate in the most remote regions, their journey beginning in Mongolia. Here, partnerships have been established with herders who tend their mixed flocks of yaks, camels, sheep, and goats. By purchasing only fibers from animals that do not damage the grazing land, the herders' habitat is protected. Nomadnoos buys the fine fibers directly from the herding families. The raw wool is then sent to Ulaanbaatar for washing and combing. A water recycling system ensures that the environmental impact is kept to a minimum. Once a sufficient quantity of the highest quality fibers has been collected, they are sent to Nepal, where skilled spinners in Kathmandu spin them into fine yarns. All yarns are also dyed in Kathmandu using environmentally friendly dyes, creating the signature Nomadnoos colors. The workshop in Kathmandu also has a water treatment system, allowing water to be reused multiple times. Spinning provides a regular daily income for the Nomadnoos team members in Kathmandu, significantly improving their quality of life. With these yarns, you can not only create something incredibly beautiful, but you also support people and regions that maintain a long and vibrant tradition of wool production.
